Anna Mae Perillo
Lawyer, Mediator, Collaborator
Anna Mae Perillo has been mediating for more than 25 years. Her experience as a family lawyer litigating cases for many years enables her to understand what can happen to families if the parties do not at least attempt to resolve their differences amicably. She has seen children destroyed, parties become further and further alienated from each other, and clients spending their retirement funds, college funds, or taking out second mortgages to pay for counsel fees to arrive at an unfavorable result after years of stressful litigation.
Speaking of Mediation and Collaborative Law, Anna Mae Perillo says,
"After years of being amidst the animosity and ugliness of the contested case, I feel like I have arrived at an oasis – a place where everyone’s needs can be taken into account in an atmosphere of decency."
Anna Mae Perillo has had her own law practice in Red Bank, New Jersey for over 25 years. She is a pioneer of Mediation having devoted a large portion of her practice to Divorce Mediation for more than 25 years. She is accredited by the New Jersey Association of Professional Mediator, the NJAPM.
Anna Mae Perillo has been serving Monmouth County, Ocean County, and Middlesex County for years, but also has clients all over the state of New Jersey as well as clients whose jobs or living arrangements make it difficult to come into her offices in Red Bank and Wall Township. She offers Skype or Face-time appointments and has successfully mediated in this way while clients are at their desks in New York City, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Florida and even California.
She offers early morning and evening appointments if required.
She was ranked one of New Jersey’s “Top Mediators” by NJ BIZ.
She is also one of the 10 founding members of the Jersey Shore Collaborative Law Group, JSCLG, and is a leading proponent of the Collaborative Movement. She handles numerous Collaborative cases and enjoys working with other like-minded professionals.
Anna Mae Perillo was asked by the JSCLG to develop an 8-hour Mediation training program so that professionals wanting to join the Collaborative Practice could be trained in Mediation techniques as is required by all or most Collaborative Law Groups. During the summer of 2008 she developed her 8-hour Mediation Training program. Her class is approved by the New Jersey Supreme Court and lawyers attending the class receive 9.2 hours of continuing legal education credits. The class has also been approved in Pennsylvania. She presently teaches the class once a year training a wide variety of professionals who want to learn or hone mediation skills.
